Using Up All My Time

14 Sep

Well folks, we’re done!  Well, I’m done.  Ed is still working, but we’re at the tail end.  Finals week is almost over and it feels oh so good to have 3 weeks of study free life.

Ed and I have until 5PM to turn in all our materials and luckily today just happens to be our day off too.  I remember reading an article (I can’t for the life of me remember where) about how the average person will take the total amount of time given to complete a task.  I can relate to this on some levels, but not school.  If a due date is in site, in most cases I will get it in and out of my life the day before.  Give me an extra hour to cook dinner, get ready in the morning, or clean the house, know that I will be using every last minute given.  I’m a “partial procrastinator”.

Ed does not feel the same way about school.  He uses every minute given for every assignment.  Our assignments are typically due at 1AM (our school is based out of Minnesota, so its 12AM there), and he will turn it in somewhere between 12:30A-12:55A.  I am in bed.  That is sleep time.

So, while he is still stressing, I’ve been grocery shopping, cleaning and planning fun non-school related activities for the next three weeks.

Any ideas?

Lunch was quick and simple.  I started with a large bed of organic spring mix greens and topped it with carrots, red peppers, a hard boiled egg, balsamic dressing and some deli turkey slices for some more protein.  I also ate a cup of grapes on the side with some iced tea.

This afternoon, we’ll be planning our Saturday, school’s out adventures and getting our 4 mile run in.

Question of the Afternoon

Are you an early bird or do you take all the time you are given to complete your tasks?
