What’s in a name?

If you have been following me on Facebook, you may notice that things have changed today.  To be honest, I wasn’t feeling my previous name “Beach Saturday”.  It started as a common phrase for my husband and I for the upcoming weekend events and then the blog was born.  I soon realized I enjoyed writing about my day and sharing sweat bearing workouts mixed with recipes on a daily basis.  This was me everyday and this is the cause for the change.

I’m still working on my title name.  Any ideas?  I kinda like my tagline 😉

What do you think of the change?

Today was a manic Monday at work and I ended up working through my lunch instead of my usual workout routine.  So, needless to say, after work it was pretty difficult to get into my running shorts.  However, Createlive Blog featured her Wow!! Workout of the Week and I was intrigued.  So, off to the gym I went.

I mixed blogs today to create a more balanced workout.  The first was some running cardio.

Rightfully named, this was a good interval for my mood.  For the alternate section, I adjusted my pace after the first set of 8 to 7. The last round I returned to the 8.

Then it was on to the Wow!! Workout of the Week.

At only 10 minutes total, I went into this workout with entirely too much confidence.  The first set I worked through like a champ, the second round…not so much.  I think I felt every ab in my stomach move to get through those leg raises.

I was intrigued before and now I want the extra push.  I’ll be sure to see this workout again this week.

Dinner was a quick and healthy alternative to chicken and rice.

Seasoned chicken, steamed broccoli, quinoa and avocado slices.

I love quinoa and it is slowly making an impression on my husband now as well.  He LOVES his white jasmine rice with every meal, but I can’t take the smell nor the taste.  So, were compromising.

Question of the Night:

Have you tried quinoa?  If so, what are your favorite recipes to make with it?

    I’m with Ed on this one.. Not a huge quinoa fan. But, I LOVE jasmine rice. LOVE! You are very inspirational with your daily workouts. I’m slowly getting back into my gym routine. Once I’m back to where I was, I’d love to give some of the workouts you share a whirl. 🙂

      Ed is very happy to hear he has another jasmine rice lover in the family. I didn’t really know how much I actually couldn’t handle it till we were married. Good thing, it might of been a deal breaker!

      Thanks for you comments on the workouts. Please give them a try. I am always adjusting when needed and sometimes I surprise myself and I know you will too!
