Kicking the Caffeine

27 Jul

Hello!

As you may have guessed, this new season of blog life is starting off slowly by surely.  My days are often spent thinking of new posts and new things to share about my everyday living.  To be honest, this has been a crazy week.  I’m currently typing from my hometown in NE Ohio about 6 hours from my home in Central Maryland.  While I should be used to this hike of a trip and my wonderful husband insists on doing much if not all of the driving, the full day of work, overnight driving and then running around visiting can take a toll on this graduate student.  Oi.

So last night, with all the running around and proposed running around to come I broke my caffeine cleanse and bought an extra large Chai Tea Latte from the turnpike Starbucks…

“Oh, how I have missed you…”

I started this caffeine cleanse a couple of weeks ago to prove to myself (and my husband) that I am not addicted to caffeine and I do not need the sweet taste the warm cup of coffee gives me when I sit at my office chair at 6:45 AM every weekday morning.  After a couple weeks of clearing out (and a few lack of caffeine headaches), I received a wonderful gift in the mail from Starbucks.  It was my Free birthday drink for being a member on their website.  They must have known and I of course had no problem giving in to my favorite treat.  Yum!  It’s official, I can live without caffeine, but I can’t live without my favorite drinks.  Time to start looking into decaf.

Today’s Quick Morning Workout Circuit

60 Jumping Jacks
40 Crunches
10 sit ups
10 Tricep Dips
20 side lunges (each side)
15 incline push ups
10 oblique sit ups (each side)
30 butt kickers
5 jump squats
15 jacks knife sit ups

x2

Quick but manageable being at my parents this weekend.

Question of the Day:

Do you need caffeine to get through your day, or do you simply just love the taste of your favorite drinks?
